Troubleshooting

A member clicks the panel and nothing happens

The checks to run, in order, when a ticket panel does not open a ticket for one member or for everybody.

Tickety almost always answers a panel click, but the answer is private: only the member who clicked can see it. That is why the click looks silent from the outside. Work through the checks below in order, and ask the member to send you a screenshot of what they got before you change anything.

Ask the member what they saw

The reply is a small red embed with a title such as Ticket Limit Reached or Required Roles. That title tells you which check refused, and the table further down this page tells you where to fix it.

If Discord itself showed This interaction failed, Tickety did not answer at all. Check our status page, then try again in a few minutes.

Confirm Tickety is answering at all

Run /new in any channel. If the command answers, the bot is online and the problem is in the panel or in the member's situation. If it does not answer, no panel in your server will work either.

Check the panel is enabled

Open Ticket Panels in the dashboard, select the panel, and look at Panel Enabled in the Panel Settings section of the General tab. A disabled panel keeps its message in the channel and answers every click with Panel Disabled.

Check the panel still exists

A panel message stays in the channel after the panel itself is deleted. Clicking it gives Ticket Panel Missing. Delete the old message and send the panel you want from the dashboard.

Check your support hours

On the Availability tab, Support Hours can be set to Deny Creation under Closed State Logic. Outside your open hours, that blocks new tickets and shows your own closed message instead. Switch to Allow with Warning if you want members to open tickets anyway.

Check the roles on the panel

Still on the General tab, in Ticket Settings:

  • Roles Required to Create Tickets - the member must have these roles. Without them they get Required Roles.
  • Roles Blocked from Creating Tickets - a member holding one of these gets Blocked Role.

Check the member's roles against both lists before assuming the panel is broken.

Check the member is not blacklisted

Open Blacklists under Server. A blacklist that covers everything, or only tickets, answers with Blacklisted and the reason you gave. Remove the entry, or wait for it to expire.

Check the ticket limits and the cooldown

A member who already has tickets open, or who opened one a moment ago, is refused:

  • Ticket Limit Reached means the member is at Max Open Tickets per User, set on General Settings or on the panel itself.
  • Server Ticket Limit Reached means the whole server or that one panel is at its Max Open Tickets per Server.
  • Ticket Cooldown means Ticket Creation Cooldown has not run out yet. The reply says when they can try again.

Ask the member to close their open ticket, or raise the limit.

Check Discord's own limits

Discord allows 50 channels in a category, 500 channels in a server and 1000 threads. When the category is full, Tickety uses an overflow category if you configured one and posts Category Overflow. When there is nowhere left to go, the member gets Channel Limit Reached or Thread Limit Reached.

Delete old channels, or add overflow categories to the panel.

Check Tickety's permissions

Missing Permissions means Tickety cannot build the ticket where you asked it to. Make sure the bot can see and manage the category the panel creates tickets in, and that it can hand out every permission the panel's Ticket Permissions section grants. See Minimal Role Permissions for the full permission list.

Two related messages point at configuration rather than permissions:

  • Admin Role Not Set means no Admin Role is chosen in Settings.
  • Panel Support Roles Not Set means the panel has no Support Roles, so nobody would be able to answer the ticket.

Check whether the panel needs premium

Premium Panel means the panel uses something premium, such as a custom footer, an image, custom emojis or an image upload question, and premium has ended on this server. Renew premium, or build a panel without those parts.

The same applies to a ticket button placed on an FAQ or application panel. Those cross links need premium, and sending the panel again removes the button.

Check thread mode

If the panel creates threads rather than channels, the member needs to see the channel the threads are created in. Without it the ticket would exist and be invisible to them, so Tickety refuses instead and names the channel in the reply. Give the member's role access to that channel.

What the member sees, and where to fix it

Your own click is not a fair test. Your roles, your open tickets and your cooldown are not the member's. Ask the member who reported it to try again while you watch, or test with a second account that has the same roles they do.
