Managing Giveaways
Browse, inspect, edit, end, reroll and delete the giveaways in your server.
Every giveaway your server has ever run stays on the Giveaway Management page, running or ended. It is where you start a new one, watch the entries come in, and step in when a giveaway needs to finish early or disappear.
Access the Web Dashboard
Open your Tickety Dashboard. Log in using your Discord Account.
Navigate to Giveaway Management
-
Once logged in, locate and click on the "Giveaways" section in the sidebar.
-
Select "Giveaway Management" from the options.
The management page
Four cards sit across the top: Active, Ended, Participants and All Giveaways. Under them is Create New Giveaway, then the list itself.
- The search box matches on prize, channel, host or giveaway ID.
- The status dropdown filters to
All Giveaways,ActiveorEnded. - Clear filters puts both back.
Each row shows the prize and whether the giveaway is Active or Ended. Click a row to open its detail panel, and use the arrows at the top of the panel to move to the next giveaway without going back to the list.
Inspecting a giveaway
The detail panel opens on Giveaway Details and covers:
| Block | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Counters | Participants, Winner Slots, Entries and Selected |
| Entry rules | The Required Roles, Blocked Roles, Bypass Roles and Winner Roles this giveaway was created with |
| Information | Status, channel, host, end condition, created date, ended date and the Giveaway ID |
| Management | Open in Discord, then End or Reroll, and Delete Giveaway |
/giveaway info gives you the same picture inside Discord, privately: status, host, channel, total participants, start date, end condition, whether vote entries are on, the required role, the winners and how many have claimed their prize. View Participants lists every entrant with their entry count, 15 to a page with a jump to page box. View Claims appears once the giveaway has ended and lists who claimed and where.
For a quick look at what is running right now, /giveaway list posts a private list of every running giveaway with its prize, its participant count and a jump link, 10 to a page.
Editing a live giveaway
Run /giveaway edit and pick the giveaway. The builder reopens with its current values, and Save Changes updates the posted message in place. You can change the prize, the winner count, the description, the end condition, the channel, the host, the ping and the entry rules.
- Leave the end condition alone and the original end time is kept.
- Setting a goal the giveaway has already passed is refused with Target Already Reached.
- Ended and deleted giveaways cannot be edited.
Editing is a Discord command. The dashboard shows a running giveaway but does not edit it.
Ending early
Ending a giveaway now draws the winners from the entries it has so far, exactly as if the clock had run out. Useful when a goal giveaway is never going to reach its goal.
From the dashboard, open the giveaway and click End. The End Giveaway dialog explains what is about to happen and asks you to confirm.
From Discord, run /giveaway end and pick the giveaway. Tickety confirms privately and the channel gets the ended message and the winner reply.
Deleting
Deleting removes the giveaway message, throws away the saved entries and takes the giveaway off the list. Members are told nothing.
From the dashboard, open the giveaway and click Delete Giveaway. From Discord, run /giveaway delete.
A delete cannot be undone. The entries are gone, which means the giveaway can never be ended or rerolled afterwards.
If Tickety cannot remove the message, it tells you so and deletes the giveaway anyway, leaving the old message sitting in the channel for you to remove by hand.
Two things delete a giveaway without you asking: deleting the giveaway message yourself, and deleting the channel it lives in.
Command reference
| Command | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/giveaway create | prize, winners, duration, optional channel and description | Opens the private builder, publishes when you press Publish |
/giveaway edit | giveaway | Reopens the builder for a running giveaway |
/giveaway end | giveaway | Ends a running giveaway now and draws the winners |
/giveaway reroll | giveaway | Replaces winners you pick on a giveaway that ended in the last 30 days |
/giveaway delete | giveaway | Deletes a running giveaway and its entries |
/giveaway list | none | Private list of every running giveaway |
/giveaway info | giveaway | Private card for one giveaway, running or ended |
Every giveaway option is a search box. Start typing a prize or an ID and pick from the suggestions.
Running any of them needs the server's Admin Role, or both Manage Channels and Send Messages, or a role you allowed for the giveaway command under Command Permissions. Anyone else gets Missing Permissions.
Commands Cooldown
- Cooldown Time - How long a member has to wait between giveaway commands, in seconds.
0means no wait, and the longest is 604800 seconds, which is 7 days. Saving a higher number fails.
Logging
- Log Channel - Where giveaway logs are posted. Channels and threads can both be picked.
Left on Default, giveaway logs follow whatever general log channel your server has under Settings, so moving that one moves these too. If no general log channel is set, the page warns you that nothing is being logged. See General server settings.
Five events are logged, each with the prize, the winner count, the host, the channel and who did it:
| Log | Written when |
|---|---|
| Giveaway Created | A giveaway is published |
| Giveaway Edited | A running giveaway is changed |
| Giveaway Ended | A giveaway ends, on its own or by hand, with the winners |
| Giveaway Rerolled | Winners are replaced, with the winners that were replaced |
| Giveaway Deleted | A giveaway is deleted |
