Status Board
Post one live message that shows your open tickets, today's totals and the state of every ticket panel.
The status board is a single message Tickety posts in a channel you choose and then keeps up to date on its own. It answers the question members ask most often before they open a ticket: is anyone there, and how long will this take. You send it once. You never repost it by hand.
Access the Web Dashboard
Open your Tickety Dashboard. Log in using your Discord Account.
Navigate to Status Board
-
Once logged in, locate and click on the "Configuration" section in the sidebar under the TICKETS category.
-
Select "Status Board" from the configuration options.
What the board shows
The built-in board is titled Support Status. Above the panel rows it gives you the whole server at a glance:
- How many tickets are open right now, and how many of those nobody has answered yet.
- How many tickets were opened today, and how many were closed.
- Your average time to a first reply.
- Your average ticket rating, or
not rated yetwhen nobody has rated a ticket. - When the board last refreshed, written as a relative time.
Under that, each ticket panel gets its own row. The board keeps itself current as tickets open, get answered and close, so the numbers on it stay close to live without anyone touching them.
The accent colour follows your team: green while at least one panel is open, grey when everything is closed. Set your own colour on the board message and Tickety leaves it alone.
Send the board
Set the content first, then send. The board is built from what is saved, so the dashboard refuses to send while you have unsaved changes and tells you to save first.
Choose your content
Under Board Content, pick the panels you want and decide whether open panels lead. Press save.
Pick a channel
Use the channel dropdown at the top right of the page. It accepts a text channel or an announcement channel.
Send it
Press Send the Board. Once a board exists the button reads Move the Board, and pressing it again always replaces the board you had before.
You can do the same thing from Discord with the /statusboard command.
If Tickety could not delete the old board message when you moved it, you get a warning saying the board was sent but the previous one could not be removed. Delete the old message yourself, otherwise your server has one live board and one frozen copy.
What Tickety needs in the channel
Post the board in a channel members can read but not write in. In that channel Tickety needs View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links and Read Message History. The last one matters more than it looks: Tickety keeps editing that same message for as long as it exists, and it cannot edit a message it is not allowed to see.
Board Content
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Panels on the Board | Picks which ticket panels get a row, and in what order. Drag the selected panels to reorder them. Leave it empty to show every panel |
| Show Open Panels First | Lists panels that are open right now above the closed ones. Your own order is kept inside each group. On by default |
| Show Activity Graph 👑 | Adds an image showing how busy each hour of the day usually is, with the current hour highlighted. Off by default |
A few things worth knowing:
- The board has a fixed number of rows. Custom fields you add to the board message share that budget with the panel rows, so the panel picker stops offering panels once the budget is used up.
- A panel counts as open when it is enabled and its support hours are not currently closed. On free servers an advanced support hours schedule does not apply, so those panels always count as open.
- Deleting a panel simply removes its row. Renaming a panel does not break anything.
- Show Activity Graph takes the place of the board's large image, so you cannot use both. The toggle disappears entirely if your board message uses the components layout, because that layout has no image for the graph to replace.
What a panel row says
By default a row is the panel name with an availability circle next to it, then three lines.
Availability describes where the panel stands against its support hours right now, in one of these phrasings:
| You see | It means |
|---|---|
open around the clock | The panel is on and has no support hours |
inside support hours | The panel is on and open now, sometimes with a relative closing time |
inside support hours, reduced staffing | Open, but the schedule says fewer staff are around |
inside support hours, emergencies only | Open for urgent tickets only |
outside support hours | Closed for now, usually with a relative opening time |
switched off, not taking new tickets | The panel is disabled |
Open Tickets splits the queue by whether anyone has replied yet, not by who claimed it. A claim is a staff member saying they will get to it. A reply is the thing the member is actually waiting for. So you see none right now, 3, all answered, 3, none answered yet, or 3, of which 1 unanswered.
Today is what the panel handled since midnight, such as 5 opened, first reply usually within 4m. It reads nothing opened yet on a quiet day, and drops the reply figure when there is not enough history to give one.
Board Message 👑
This feature requires a Premium Subscription.
Open Board Message to write your own board. You can change the title, description, colour, footer and images, and add your own fields.
Panel rows are not something you write. Tickety generates them from your selection under Panels on the Board and keeps them in sync, so selecting a panel adds its row and deselecting one removes it. Use Add Field for anything else you want on the board, and remember those fields share the row budget with the panel rows.
Free servers can open the accordion but every edit opens the upgrade prompt, and the board always renders the built-in message. Your customisation is kept if premium lapses and comes back when you resubscribe.
Board placeholders
These values only resolve on the board message:
| Placeholder | What it shows |
|---|---|
{board.openTickets} | Tickets open right now |
{board.unansweredTickets} | Open tickets nobody has replied to |
{board.unclaimedTickets} | Open tickets nobody has claimed |
{board.ticketsOpenedToday} | Tickets opened since midnight |
{board.ticketsClosedToday} | Tickets closed since midnight |
{board.ticketsOpenedLastHour} | Tickets opened in the last hour |
{board.avgResponseTime} | Average time to a first reply |
{board.rating} | Average rating, written as 4.6 / 5 |
{board.updated} | When the board last refreshed, as a relative time |
Every panel also has its own set, written as {board.panel.<panel>.name}, {board.panel.<panel>.status}, {board.panel.<panel>.availability}, {board.panel.<panel>.queue}, {board.panel.<panel>.today}, {board.panel.<panel>.nextOpen} and the raw counts {board.panel.<panel>.openTickets}, {board.panel.<panel>.unansweredTickets}, {board.panel.<panel>.unclaimedTickets}, {board.panel.<panel>.ticketsOpenedToday} and {board.panel.<panel>.avgResponseTime}. Pick a panel from the placeholder list and the editor fills in the right panel for you.
{emoji.<name>} renders one of Tickety's own emojis. A name that cannot be resolved disappears along with the space after it, so the line still reads.
The /statusboard command
/statusboard posts the board and starts keeping it up to date, without opening the dashboard.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
channel | The text or announcement channel to post in. Leave it out to use the channel you are in |
The reply is only visible to you, and it tells you whether the board was sent, moved to a new channel, or reposted with fresh numbers. You can run it once a minute.
Anyone with Manage Server can run it, as can anyone holding your Tickety admin role. You can also allow a specific role under Command Permissions.
Run it somewhere that is not a text channel and Tickety answers Run this command in a text channel or pick one with the channel option.
Which panels appear is always a dashboard setting. The command only decides where the board lives.
Limits
| Free | Premium | |
|---|---|---|
| Rows on the board, panel rows and custom fields together | 3 | 25 |
| Customising the board message | no | yes |
| Activity graph | no | yes |
| Advanced support hours reflected on a panel row | no | yes |
When the board stops updating
Tickety switches the board off and leaves it off if the message is deleted, the channel is deleted, or it loses access to the channel. The old message simply stops changing, which is easy to miss because it still looks correct.
Fix the cause first, then send the board again. Restore the permissions listed above, or pick a new channel, and press Send the Board. A fresh board starts updating immediately.
