How giveaways work

Run prize draws in your server, pick winners and hand the prizes out.

A giveaway is a prize draw Tickety posts in one of your channels. Members press a single Participate button to enter, the count on the button goes up, and when the giveaway ends Tickety draws the winners and announces them in the same channel.

You can run the whole thing from your dashboard, or from Discord with the /giveaway commands. Both write to the same giveaway, so you can start one in Discord and end it from the dashboard.

What you can set up

  • Entry rules by role, so only your members with a certain role can join.
  • Extra entries for members with roles you choose, and for members who vote for Tickety.
  • A captcha step before an entry counts.
  • Roles handed to the winners automatically.
  • A direct message to every winner.
  • A Claim Prize button that opens a ticket for the winner.
  • A shareable giveaway page on tickety.top that anyone can open in a browser.

Before you start

Your server needs an Admin Role before a giveaway can be published. Set one with /adminrole or under General server settings. Without it, publishing is refused.

Tickety also needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in the channel you post the giveaway to. If it cannot post there, you get Giveaway Creation Failed instead of a giveaway.

Your first giveaway

Access the Web Dashboard

Open your Tickety Dashboard. Log in using your Discord Account.

  1. Once logged in, locate and click on the "Giveaways" section in the sidebar.

  2. Select "Giveaway Management" from the options.

Start the wizard

Click Create New Giveaway. The wizard has five steps: Prize, Schedule, Winners, Access and Review.

Fill in the prize and the channel

Type what you are giving away and pick the channel it should be posted in. Everything else on that step is optional.

Choose when it ends

Pick Time, Date, Participant Goal or Server Member Goal, then set the value.

Publish

Work through Winners and Access, check the summary on Review, then press Create Giveaway. Tickety posts the message straight away.

/giveaway create does the same job inside Discord, in a private builder message you publish when it looks right. See Creating a giveaway.

Where the settings live

PageWhat it controls
Giveaways > ConfigurationHow giveaways behave everywhere: luck, entry requirements, prize claiming, winner DMs, the look of the message, the giveaway page, the FAQ button, the command cooldown and logging
Giveaways > Giveaway ManagementThe giveaways themselves: create a new one, watch the running ones, end, reroll or delete

Anything you set under Configuration is copied into a new giveaway when you create it. Changing it later does not touch a giveaway that is already running.

The rest of the plan is on Free and Premium limits. Your settings stay saved if premium ends. The premium parts simply stop being applied until it comes back, and a giveaway that is already running keeps the rules it was created with.
