FAQ Buttons on Other Features
Add an FAQ button next to your ticket panels, verification message, welcome messages and giveaways.
Any FAQ panel can be attached to another feature. Tickety adds an FAQ button next to that feature's own button, and members read the FAQ privately without leaving the message they are already looking at.
Where you can add one
Each of these has its own FAQ Configuration section, and they all work the same way.
| Feature | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Ticket panels | Ticket Panels, open a panel, Embed tab |
| Application panels | Application Panels, open a panel, Embed tab |
| Verification | Verification, Configuration |
| Welcome messages and DMs | Welcomer, Configuration |
| Giveaways | Giveaways, Configuration |
Set it up
Access the Web Dashboard
Open your Tickety Dashboard. Log in using your Discord Account.
Navigate to FAQ Configuration
-
Once logged in, locate and click on the "Ticket Panels" section in the sidebar, or on the feature you are adding the button to.
-
Open the panel and select the "Embed" tab at the top of the page. On Verification, Welcomer and Giveaways, open "Configuration" instead.
-
Open the "FAQ Configuration" section.
The FAQ button
- FAQ Panel - The panel the button opens. Everything below only appears once you pick one, and clearing the picker removes the button again.
- Emoji - The icon on the button,
❔by default. Standard emoji are free, your server's own emoji need premium 👑 and fall back to❔without it. - Label - The text on the button,
FAQby default, up to 80 characters. - Color 👑 - Blue, grey, green or red. Grey by default, and always grey without premium.
If you merge several ticket panels into one message with linked panels, the FAQ comes along into that builder, either as another button or as an option in the dropdown, and you can restyle it from there.
Sync Embed Color 👑
Sync Embed Color makes the FAQ take the colour of the message the button was pressed on, instead of its own, so the FAQ reads as part of that message rather than as a separate thing. Only the first embed changes colour. Any further embeds you added keep the colour you gave them. Off by default.
This feature requires a Premium Subscription.
What the member sees
The member presses the FAQ button and the panel opens privately, right there under the message. They see your panel message and its dropdown, pick a question, and read the answer. Nobody else sees any of it, and they can keep picking other questions from the same private message.
The original message is never touched, so a ticket panel keeps working normally for everyone else while one member is reading the FAQ.
Welcome messages and DMs
The Welcomer has two extra toggles, and both appear once you pick a panel.
- Add to Welcome Message - Shows the FAQ button on the welcome message posted in your welcome channel. On by default.
- Add to Welcome DM - Shows the FAQ button on the welcome DM, next to the server name button. On by default.
The DM is the one place FAQ answers appear outside your server. Answers open privately inside the DM, and buttons that would open a ticket or an application are left off there, because those only exist in the server. Link buttons still work.
Answering before a ticket is created
A ticket panel can also check what a member wrote in the ticket form against one of your FAQ panels and show them the closest answer first, with a Create Anyway button under it. That is FAQ Deflection, on the panel's AI tab. It runs on AI credits rather than being part of the FAQ feature itself, and the FAQ panel it searches can be a different one from the panel on your FAQ Configuration tab. See AI Ticket Features.
Send the message again
Attaching a panel, restyling the button or removing it only reaches members on messages sent after the change. Send the ticket panel, application panel or verification message again, then delete the old message.
Welcome messages, welcome DMs and giveaway messages are posted fresh each time, so they pick the change up on their own.
When the button stops working
- Delete the FAQ panel and the button stops being added to anything you send from then on. Messages already posted keep the button, and pressing it tells the member the FAQ panel could not be found. Send those messages again.
- If premium ends, a button you styled with a colour or a custom emoji stops opening the FAQ and asks the member to contact an admin. Renew, or set the button back to grey with the default emoji and send the message again.
- If premium ends while your server keeps more than 5 FAQ panels, members get a
Panel Limit Reachednotice when they pick a question. Delete panels until you are back to 5.
