Questions and Answers
Write the questions members pick from and the answers they get back.
Each question is one row in the dropdown and one message behind it. A panel holds up to 25 of them on every plan.
Access the Web Dashboard
Open your Tickety Dashboard. Log in using your Discord Account.
Navigate to FAQs
-
Once logged in, locate and click on the "FAQs" section in the sidebar, under SERVER.
-
Open the panel you want to work on, then open the "Questions" section.
Add a question
Click Create a Question. The counter on the button shows how many of the 25 you have used, and the note above it says the same.
- Emoji - A small icon next to the question in the dropdown. Standard emoji are free. Your server's own emoji need premium 👑, and a question built with one shows with no emoji at all if the subscription lapses.
- Question - The wording members read in the dropdown. Up to 100 characters, counted as you type. Leaving it empty shows "A question is required for each dropdown option." and blocks saving.
- Answer - The message the member gets back, written in the message editor under the question.
Drag the handle on the left of a row to move it. The order in the dashboard is the order members see in the dropdown, so keep your most common questions at the top.
The answer
The answer is a full message, written in the same editor as the rest of the dashboard, and it is private to the member who picked the question.
- An answer is required. A panel saves only once at least one question has both its wording and an answer, otherwise you get "Please create at least one question with a label and an answer message". The
Tickety | Tickety.topfooter that every message ships with does not count as content on its own. - Leave the answer's own title empty and the question wording becomes the title.
- Every placeholder works here, including
{member.mention}, because the answer is built for the one person who asked. - Free servers get 2 embeds per answer and 1 field per embed. Premium raises that to 5 embeds and 25 fields.
Buttons under an answer
An answer can end with buttons, which is what turns a dead end into a next step. The section is called Buttons when you have panels available to open, Link Buttons when you have none yet, and Action Buttons when the answer is written in the components layout.
Click Add Button, then pick what it does under Opens:
A link- Fill in Label, up to 80 characters, and URL, up to 512 characters. Anything that is not a real address is rejected with "Enter a valid URL (e.g., https://example.com)".A ticket- Pick the ticket Panel the button opens. There is no label field: the button is that panel's own, so it uses the panel's label, colour and emoji, and keeps following them when you restyle the panel. An application- The same, for one of your application panels.
If you have not built the matching panel yet, the dialog tells you so: "Create a ticket panel first, then it can be opened from here."
One button per answer on the free plan, 20 with premium 👑. Links and panel buttons share that budget, so a free server gets one of either.
What a ticket or application button does
Pressing it is the same as pressing the real panel. Blacklists, required roles, support hours, ticket forms and everything else configured on that panel still apply, and nothing is skipped because the member arrived from the FAQ.
- A button pointing at a panel you later delete is quietly left off the answer.
- A button pointing at a disabled panel stays, and pressing it gives the same reply that pressing the real panel gives.
- Inside a welcome DM, buttons that open a ticket or an application are left off, because those only exist in your server. Link buttons still work there.
Components layout 👑
Switch an answer to Components to write it as blocks of text, images and buttons in any order instead of embeds.
On an answer this also changes where the buttons live. Link buttons are built inside the layout itself, and the buttons that open a ticket or an application are placed wherever you want them among the blocks. Anything you do not place is still sent, just after the blocks, and the question dropdown always rides along at the bottom.
An embed and a components layout can never be on the same Discord message, so the half you are not using is kept as you wrote it. Switch back and everything is where you left it.
