Verification Methods
The three ways a member can prove they are human, and the commands that verify someone by hand.
A verification method decides what a member does after pressing Verify. You pick one under General Settings on the Verification page, and it applies to everyone in the server.
| Method | What the member does |
|---|---|
| Web Verification | Opens a link and finishes in their browser |
| Discord Captcha 👑 | Solves a captcha with a numpad inside Discord |
| Click to Pass 👑 | Presses one more button |
Web Verification
The default, and the only method available without premium. It is also the only method Web Security applies to.
The member presses Verify and gets a private Verification Started reply with a link button. The link is valid for a short time, and a member who lets it lapse can press Verify again for a new one.
In the browser they see a card for your server with your server statistics and two ways to finish:
- Verify by Captcha - Solve a captcha on the page.
- Verify by Voting - Finish by voting for Tickety instead. A recent vote counts.
Passing shows a Successfully Verified page, and the success message arrives as a direct message in Discord. A failed or expired attempt shows Verification Failed and asks them to request a new link in your server.
Pressing Verify again while a link is still open returns Verification Pending with a button that continues the attempt they already have, rather than starting a second one.
Discord Captcha 👑
The member never leaves Discord. Pressing Verify opens a private message titled Verify to Proceed with a captcha image and a numpad under it. They tap the blue numbers in the order they appear, then submit. There is a backspace button for mistakes.
A wrong answer returns Incorrect Captcha with a fresh image to try again. Passing replaces the message with your success message in the channel, so nothing is sent to their direct messages.
Click to Pass 👑
The lightest option. The member presses Verify, and they are verified. There is nothing else to solve.
Use it when you only want the roles and the join gate, not the challenge: it stops nobody who is willing to press a button, but it still holds members behind your unverified role until they act.
This feature requires a Premium Subscription.
What happens when premium ends
Discord Captcha and Click to Pass fall back to Web Verification while the server has no premium. Nothing is lost: your choice stays saved and starts working again the moment premium comes back.
Who is allowed to start
Before any method runs, Tickety checks the account against the rules you set under General Settings:
| The member sees | Why |
|---|---|
| Account Too New | Their Discord account is younger than your Minimum Account Age, and the message names the age you require |
| Profile Picture Required | Avatar Required is on and they have no profile picture |
| Already Verified | They have already passed in this server |
| Verification Disabled | The Verification System toggle is off |
A member who is already verified but has lost their verified roles, or who still carries an unverified role, has their roles repaired on the spot instead of getting the Already Verified notice.
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/sendverificationpanel | Posts the verification panel in the current channel |
/force verify | Marks a member as verified without them doing anything |
/force unverify | Takes verification back |
All three need Manage Server, or the admin role you set under Server Settings. They reply privately, and every use is written to your verification log channel.
/sendverificationpanel
Posts the panel, with the Verify button, into the channel where you run it. Tickety needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links there.
It refuses with "The verification module is not yet enabled for this server" while the Verification System toggle is off. The channel picker at the top of the dashboard page does the same job if you would rather pick the channel there.
/force verify
Takes one option, user, the member to verify. It marks them as verified straight away: it removes the unverified roles, grants the verified roles, cancels any punishment that was waiting for them, and counts as a passed verification in your statistics. A welcome message that was being held back until verification is delivered as well.
It refuses if verification is switched off, or if the member has already passed.
/force unverify
The reverse, with the same user option. It removes the verified roles, puts the unverified roles back, and undoes the pass in your statistics.
It refuses if verification is switched off, or if the member was never verified. It does not remove quarantine roles and it does not restart a grace period.
Both commands sit under your Cooldown Time setting, so a short cooldown between verification actions applies to staff running them too.
Where to go next
- Verification: the roles, messages, logging and the panel itself.
- Punishments and Appeals: what happens to members who never finish.
- Web Security: extra checks on browser verification, for premium servers.
- Available Commands: every Tickety command in one place.
