## Placeholders [#placeholders]

Everything in the [placeholder catalog](/placeholders) works in an automation's message, plus these:

| Placeholder             | Gives you                                    |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| `{args.raw}`            | Everything typed after the trigger           |
| `{args.<name>}`         | One argument's value                         |
| `{args.<name>.mention}` | A ping, for user, role and channel arguments |
| `{args.<name>.count}`   | Number of items in a list argument           |
| `{args.<name>.0}`       | An item of a list by position, starting at 0 |

Not supported: `{args.list[0]}`, `{args.list.length}`, and looping over a list.

<Callout type="warn">
